Although they have quality meat at this place. The Lamb I was looking for was hard to find and I couldn't find it here. Not a good variety of Lamb unfortunately. Therefore the store itself very presentable and I understand the location and all but to be very honest. It's a very pricey place to shop at hence why I gave it a 3 stars 👀

I like supporting boutique butchers as you usually get real gems, but I was disappointed with Creative Meats. I bought a very expensive choice/select grade cut of scotch fillet, marbling score 1 or 2 (I would suggest it was mince grade). I thought that I would reserve judgement until I sampled the end result. So I cooked it as I do to get the measure of the quality of the beef; over night dry brine, season with pepper and garlic powder, sous vide for 2 hours at 53c, sear on cast iron, rest. The steak was chewy, even after sous vide, no rich beefy flavour, no nice bite and mouthfeel that usually goes with a nicely marbled premium/choice grade scotch fillet. This was dismal, I've had better steaks from Woolies. For steak enthusiasts I wouldn't waste your time here, their choice grade is double what you would pay at any other shopping centre butcher, I would recommend Crafty Meats in Rivervale for excellent value and tasting Prime/Choice cuts, the MBS 8-9 wagyu is marked up a lot higher than other places like Kims Butcher in Winthrop, Clover butcher in Queens Park or Swansea St Markets in East Vic Park, all great value wagyu butchers.

Disappointed. Used to love the quality and value, but will now think twice before getting pre-made food here. My wife purchased 1.076kg of the ready-to-cook satay beef stir fry tonight. Only 135g of meat was in the mix. 88%, by weight, was satay sauce and onion. So we only received about $4 worth of meat.

Bought a $56 per kg scotch fillet steak. 2 steak 600 g total. Had some good meat before from creative meats. Was tough and average. Woolies scotch rates better. Disappointing

New owners possibly, its gone down hill. Long time customer. The butchers now unhappy to cut fillet steak as requested and make snide remarks behind counter. Dissapointing effort. Inflation hasn't just put prices up but service gone down hill, not worth the drive. Get better marbled richer eye fillet cuts else where without the attitude
