“The Butcher Shop Started a Backyard Burger Arms Race” 🍔 Rolled into Barossa Fine Foods St Clair for a casual look and walked out carrying enough premium protein to establish a small suburban burger republic. The friendly chooks working behind the counter pointed me in the right direction. Picked up the steak patties, the cheeseburger patties, a couple of chicken Kievs, and a bottle of Piccante Chilli Oil because apparently I’m no longer capable of purchasing one sensible item and leaving. The patties were the main event. Proper thick butcher-shop units with heaps of flavour, a great texture and none of that suspicious supermarket-disc energy. The steak patties were rich and seriously meaty, while the cheeseburger patties had that proper old-school burger flavour that makes you briefly consider opening a food truck despite having absolutely no business plan. Back home, the operation expanded. Barossa Fine Foods supplied the weapon-grade patties. Bakers Delight supplied the buns. Coles supplied the lettuce. I supplied cheese, sauce and dangerous levels of confidence. Once assembled, these things looked less like homemade burgers and more like two suburban bouncers waiting outside a nightclub. Big soft buns, juicy patties, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and a sneaky hit of chilli oil that turned the whole operation from backyard dinner into a full-scale flavour incident. First bite hit and the tapeworm stopped rattling the cage. Complete silence. Respect had been established. The staff were friendly, the display was packed with quality gear, and the selection is dangerous for anyone who enters hungry. You go in for two patties and suddenly you’re standing at home with Kievs, chilli oil and enough meat to make the fridge nervous. The Kievs are currently waiting for their own deployment. Judging by everything else, expectations are high. Before: humble butcher-shop ingredients. After: burgers built like Adelaide housing developments. Large, expensive-looking and requiring both hands. Outstanding quality from Barossa Fine Foods. I’ll definitely be back once the freezer clears enough room for the next meat-based acquisition. 🍔🌶️🤙

Absolutely love their beef jerky. Although a bit pricey compared to the other sellers, their service is good.

Stopped going here 3 or 4 years ago because their meat was always going off the day after I bought it, recently I let go of the grudge and gave them another go, big mistake I just spent 15 mins waiting to get served and then she tells me their out of mince but if I want to wait another 15 minutes she can make some??? Would you not make it when you sold the last of it??? Why at 4.30 in the afternoon is the second staff member at lunch???? Is it not common sense that late afternoon is going to be busier???? I guess I’ll have to go back to my grudge and wait for them to go out of business and hope someone better takes over the spot.
