We stayed overnight at the Windsor Lodge for an early morning medical appointment early next morning and wanted some place to have a nice dinner and drinks. The Karalee on Preston fitted our requirements perfectly. We pre-booked a table while we were doing a small shop at the nearby IGA. It was within walking distance of our accommodation and it was very fortunate we booked because the tables were all taken when we arrived. Highly recommended for a meal of any kind, the staff were wonderful and the meals were cooked to perfection.

The waiting staff were fantastic—friendly, respectful, and quick to help throughout our visit. They handled the situation professionally and we really appreciated their efforts. Unfortunately, the kitchen let them down. We ordered a medium sirloin, but it arrived well done. The replacement wasn't what we ordered and was raw in the middle. To make matters worse, the kitchen staff stood watching us from the bar after we complained, which felt very unprofessional. Thankfully, the waiting staff organised a full refund, and we're grateful for how well they handled everything. Great service from the front-of-house team, but a very disappointing experience with the kitchen.

Service is super fast and staff welcoming and relaxed but really attentive. Food always a winner, and love that they have Kilkenny on tap!

The Karalee is a charming and inviting place to spend a couple of hours catching up with friends and enjoying good food and an ice cold beer 🍺 Couple of things let my experience down. One I went on a 35C Saturday afternoon at 5.30pm and was seated at one of the tables up against the window so it was quite a lot warmer than the rest of the restaurant was. The sun beats down on those windows and really heats them up regardless of how good the AC works. Two there were quite a few large flies buzzing around. I guess they were drawn towards the warmth and light of the windows 🤷 Three, whilst the restaurant has a really nice relaxed feel about it, this means that families bring thier kids and some people do let their kids make ALOT of noise which can make simply hearing each other a real challenge 🤷🤷 Ok the food. Really quite nice and reasonably priced. Food came out quickly and looked great and tasted good. My steak sandwich did have a bit of gristle that could have been cut off but it wasn't too bad. A lot of "liquid" came out of my sandwich as soon as I picked it up and started to eat it which was almost like the steak wasn't rested and put into the sandwich a minute or two too soon.. Otherwise it tasted great. Chips were oddly bland though and didn't taste like they had any seasoning on them although they looked pre-seasoned 🤷 Service was a definite stand out. All the wait staff were super friendly and a pleasure to have serving us 😍 Bottom line, a lovely place to come perhaps in cooler weather and when it's less crowded and noisy. I do hope to return soon 😄😄😄

Casual dining at its finest in Perth. Great relaxed atmosphere with hearty well cooked pub food! Start off with the beers on tap. The appetizers of meatballs and Asian calamari were great starters to pique your appetite. The main courses all did not disappoint! The signature Karalee steak sandwich is all that it’s cracked up to be! Thick juicy steaks and the crumbed veal cutlets were extremely hearty and well cooked. It’s a definite place to return to and chill out with good food!
