  Jack Purcell’s Meats is easily one of the best butcher shops on the Northside. The customer service is genuinely excellent; the staff are always friendly, helpful, and happy to go the extra mile. For example, I often like to buy chicken thigh fillets but can’t be bothered cutting them up myself. The team there are always more than happy to cut any meat exactly how you want it, and they do it with a smile and no extra charge. That kind of service is pretty rare these days and really appreciated. They also have a great range of pre-prepared meat packs; mince, chicken, and all sorts of options, which makes it really easy if you want to grab something quick for dinner. On top of that, their store is large and well stocked with a wide variety of meats and products. If you're short on time they also have things like marinated steaks and stir-fry mixes ready to go. Overall, fantastic service, great quality meat, and a really convenient range of options. Definitely a 5-star butcher and probably the best on the Northside.

  There's a reason this place has been around so long - good meat at good prices. Wide variety of meat to suit a variety of budgets including tasty pre made meals. There's treats for your doggo (mine likes the lamb offcuts) and all the basic supplies you need for an awesome bbq. The experienced butchers are always ready with a smile and happy to help you plan your perfect meal

  I have been a loyal customer for several years now. I’ve put up with the price increases and waning quality of their specials because I wanted to support local business and the staff were always amazing. Now they have lost me. On 19/12/25 I purchased two racks of lamb for $75 each. Expiry dates on both were 26/1/26. I opened one to prepare it on Christmas Day and it smelled rancid and was green in some places. I took some photos and disposed of the meat. I’ve called today when they opened again after being shut for two days, to request a refund or replacement. I was told it is against the store policy to issue refunds or replacements without the meat being brought back in. I explained that it was green and rancid and I threw it out. I was told to call back in 10 minutes and talk to the manager. I called back and spoke to someone who advised me they spoke to the owner, and the owner said I should have brought the meat in as it is against their policy to action it without viewing the meat. I questioned how could I know that is their policy when it is not on their website and they have been closed for two days so I couldn’t call to ask. The people I spoke to were very understanding and apologetic, however I cannot say the same for the owner or whoever actually made that insane decision not to assist a loyal customer. They expected me to keep rancid meat in my fridge for two days while I waited for them to open or be staffed so I could call. Completely insane. A truly disappointing and disgusting outcome for my family who have loved shopping there. Unfortunately, I would recommend shopping elsewhere.

  Great place to do shopping. I come here every week to buy all my meats and I live in 30km away its worth the drive. Very good deals, large portions on the cuts. Staff are really friendly, plenty of parking outside and lost of great deals. Best meat shop in Brisbane if you are on a budget. 😁

  We had a very disappointing experience here. A staff member (I believe her name is Miranda) spoke to my wife in a raised and disrespectful manner. It was completely unnecessary and left a poor impression. This is not a one-off. We have seen similar behaviour before, and I am aware of several families who have stopped coming here because of the way customers are treated. There has been a clear decline in customer service. What used to feel like a welcoming, family-run business now feels the opposite. Some staff come across as though customers are an inconvenience. We do not come here to have our day spoiled. This needs to be addressed, otherwise you will continue to lose loyal customers.
