This butcher was a great stop off while I was in town. Fair prices. I like how the shop had a selection of foods including frozen good and eggs and milk. Much like a general store. The meat was tasty too. There was very friendly service. I could do with a sausage sizzle right now!!!! I would buy again from stokes.

Owner makes fun of customer's to other customers. A women with Tourette disorder was in front of me, when she left the owner made fun of her to me, and was mocking her, this happened a few months ago and so horrified. My whole encounter with the owner hw made fun of this women, l have never been back since. Making fun of customers to other customers is disgusting.

Passing through Wauchope was enticed by the pork loin chops on special, $9.90 / kg. Wasn't disappointed. They were delicious with old fashioned rind that became crackle. 100% Aussie pork! Bacon has been made on-site the same for decades and the proof was in the pudding, or grill tray, also with crackle. The beef sausages, old school butchers' sausages, with fat that actually oozes out when cooked. Not like the modern supermarket ones that are emulsified so it stays in the sausage. The beef ribs looked special and they're in the freezer, as is the top mince which was so fresh. Can't wait to use it. All at reasonable prices. If I lived locally I would definitely make this place my go to for meat. There's other stuff like local condiments and related produce.

Just returned from Hamilton Island with Sailing Adventures based in Brisbane which had sourced all their meat for the 9 days from Stokes in Wauchope. The standard of all the meals provided was excellent and everyone commented on the quality, flavour and tenderness of the meat. Thanks and well done!! Will be sure to pass this on to any friends passing through the area.

Just had the most delicious Silverside that we have had in ages. The shop is well stocked with quality products and a range to help make a beautiful meal without being overpriced.
